Horse Trek

For those of you who have not been filled in on Justin's latest passion I will explain.
About 4 years ago when Justin was still a Boy Scout his troop went to summer camp at Camp Baldwin. Baldwin belongs to the Cascade Pacific council and is located on the east side of Mt. Hood it is also a horse camp. I'm sure if I could have been there I would have witnessed love at first sight, according to Justin he only left the corral area when they made him. Consequently all he talked about when he got home was wanting to get his horsemanship badge and how he couldn't wait until he was 13 so he could go on Horse Trek. The council owns it's own horses and has 2 ranches/camps and since Baldwin is on Mt Hood they can't leave the horse's there in the winter. So rather than transport them they have people sign up to ride them the entire 180 miles to Butte Creek. 8 days on horse back , camping and learning the old cowboy ways. A unique and wonderful experience. After Justin went last year he was invited to help out at the ranch on weekends during the school year so he went as much as his schedule would allow. This year he came home and said he had decided he wanted to be a rancher. I told him that I thought he had been born on the wrong side of the Cascades he would fit in great in Eastern Oregon (except for the fact that he hates country music). As soon as I can get on the computer in the den(library) I will attach pictures to this blog.
Why can't I get in the den? you ask, well you will have to wait until my next blog!
