A week at a glance...otherwise know as the storm of '08

Let's just say that the weather has been a bit unusual for our area.
Day 1 It begins to snow a little heavy for our area but not to bad.
Snow is OK, you miss some school but nothing major.

This is my backyard on the first day and below is Roxy playing in the snow.
Day 2 and 3 were pretty mild, things did not melt completely but it was the calm before the storm.
Day 4 it began to snow again and we were warned that more was on the way.
Day 5 things are beginning to look a little scary but the news stations were telling everyone to get out and get their errands done so they could hunker down the rest of the weekend.

Day 6 We went out early so we could finish our Christmas shopping before the big one hit. There was about 1 inch on the ground with a thin layer of ice on top. We left the house at 10:30am and returned at 4 to this...my front deck

Jaw dropping. So I sent Justin out to shovel the deck and he did a good job you could see the wood and the stairs.
Day 7 I can't open the back door because it is frozen shut, there is a small snow drift in my garage ( I need some weather stripping!) and I open my front door to let the dog out and that nice clean deck looks like this
Mind you alot of this is drifts because the wind was about 40mph, wind chill at -3. The last storm started at about 10am Saturday and it finally stopped snowing Monday morning. Add some freezing rain in there as well and things are a mess. Last night my work called and begged me to come in today. If not for a good Samaritan I would still be stuck at the end of my street. Donnie drove me and a co-worker in and couldn't get home so he hung out at work with me for 8 hrs. We left my car there and brought the co-workers truck home ( she had left it there last night). And once again if not for a good Samaritan we would be stuck eternally at the end of my street. Tomorrow morning should be fun! Justin had done some shovelling while we were gone and these pictures are what my house looks like at the moment. They are not predicting any warming until Saturday. My first white Christmas since college. That's if you don't count the ones spent in Michigan with my parents.

P.S. yes, I know there is still a pumpkin on my deck, he adds some nice color don't you think!

Okay, I'm getting tired of whining to all my friends and family. But seriously, I'm jealous, okay? Whine, whine, whine. I know it's strange but I wish I could be hanging out with you in your -3 degree windchill weather!

Sigh. I never get what I want. Where's mom and dad? I wanna go whine to them now!
